Suspect Flees Traffic Stop, Crashes Vehicle, and Evades Deputies on Foot in Bibb County

A Bibb County Sheriff’s Office Special Response Team (S.R.T.) Unit deputy initiated a traffic stop on Riverside Drive after noticing a pickup truck driver without a seatbelt and no visible license plate. The driver of the Chevrolet pickup pulled into a parking lot but continued driving into an adjoining lot before crashing the vehicle.

The suspect fled the scene on foot, running down a steep embankment, crossing railroad tracks, and disappearing behind a nearby business, where deputies lost sight of him.

The suspect has been identified, and warrants have been issued for his arrest. The investigation is ongoing.
