Parents Arrested in Connection with Aggravated Assault and Cruelty to Children in Macon

The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office has arrested two individuals in connection with an aggravated assault and first-degree cruelty to children investigation that began on September 19, 2024.

Deputies responded to a welfare check at a residence in the Del Park neighborhood at approximately 10:00 a.m. after a witness reported two small children were in danger. Upon arrival, deputies found a two-year-old male and a four-year-old female with injuries. Paramedics transported both children to a medical facility, where the two-year-old is listed in stable but critical condition, and the four-year-old is in stable condition.

The children’s father, 30-year-old Kyle David Rogers, was arrested at the scene without incident. Rogers has been charged with aggravated battery, aggravated assault, two counts of first-degree cruelty to children, battery, and three counts of terroristic threats. He is being held without bond at the Bibb County Law Enforcement Center.

Following further investigation, the children’s mother, Dajanae Nicole Jones, was also arrested on September 20, 2024. Jones has been charged with two counts of first-degree cruelty to children. In addition, she had outstanding warrants from the Sandy Springs Police Department and the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office, which have since been served. Jones is also being held without bond.
