Bibb County Deputies Discover Deceased Person During Stolen Vehicle Investigation

On Thursday, September 14, 2024, just before 3:00 p.m., the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a stolen vehicle at the dead end of Emery Highway Lane. Upon arrival, deputies detected a distinct decomposing smell and subsequently discovered a deceased person in the area.

It is currently unclear if there is any connection between the stolen vehicle and the deceased individual. The body has been sent to the G.B.I. Crime Lab for an autopsy to determine the cause of death and identity, according to Coroner Leon Jones.
