Cobb County Police Investigating Fatal Pedestrian Collision on Mableton Parkway

The Cobb County Police Department’s Special Operations S.T.E.P. (Selective Traffic Enforcement Program) Unit is investigating a fatal pedestrian collision that occurred on Mableton Parkway in Mableton, GA, just north of its intersection with Community Drive, at approximately 10:49 p.m.

According to the preliminary investigation, a 36-year-old male from Mableton was walking east across Mableton Parkway, outside of a crosswalk, when he was struck by a white 2020 Nissan Murano. The pedestrian was redirected by the impact and came to rest in the northbound lane, where he was pronounced dead by the Cobb County Medical Examiner’s Office. The driver of the Nissan came to a controlled stop in the same lane, north of Community Drive.

The investigation is ongoing, and authorities are urging anyone with information to contact the Cobb County Police Department at 770-499-3987. The name of the deceased is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
