Pedestrian Stop in Jonesboro Leads to Arrest of Murder Suspect Wanted Since 2017
TraZion Brown

While conducting traffic enforcement near Tara Blvd and Dixon Road in Jonesboro, Georgia, on August 30, 2024, Clayton County Police Officer D. Freeman observed TraZion Brown walking in a roadway not designated for pedestrians. Officer Freeman stopped Brown for the violation and cautioned him about the dangers of not using the crosswalk, explaining that it could result in an accident or serious injury.

After obtaining Brown’s information, Officer Freeman ran a check through the Georgia Crime Information Center (GCIC). The check revealed that Brown was wanted by the Fulton County Sheriff’s Office for multiple offenses from 2017, including:

  • Murder
  • Two counts of felony murder
  • Armed robbery
  • Aggravated assault with a deadly weapon
  • Possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony

The charges stemmed from the May 2017 killing of Gregory Gallishaw, a 35-year-old father of four, who was fatally shot at an apartment complex in College Park, Fulton County.

Officer Freeman, with assistance from Officer K. Pullin, took Brown into custody without incident. The arrest of the murder suspect was made possible due to Officer Freeman’s proactive traffic enforcement and attention to pedestrian safety.
