Washington County Deputies Intervene in Contraband Drop at State Prison
On Wednesday morning, September 11th, deputies from the Washington County Sheriff’s Office intervened in an attempted contraband drop at Washington State Prison. A deputy on patrol near Davisboro noticed a suspicious vehicle stopped in the middle of a highway near the prison. Observing the vehicle, the deputy saw the passenger throw a large trash bag out the window. The deputy attempted a traffic stop, but the driver refused to pull over, leading to a brief pursuit before the vehicle was stopped.
During the investigation, deputies seized a large quantity of illegal drugs and other prohibited items.

- Trafficking Methamphetamine (Felony)
- Trading with Inmates Without Consent of Warden (Felony)
- Demarcus Morgan, 27, Atlanta, GA
- Trading with Inmates Without Consent of Warden (Felony)
- Trafficking Methamphetamine (Felony)
- Possession of Marijuana with Intent to Distribute (Felony)
- Conspiracy to Commit a Felony (Felony)
- Fleeing or Attempting to Elude Police (Felony)
- Conspiracy to Commit a Felony (Felony)
- Speeding
- Reckless Driving
- Stop Sign Violations (x2)
- Failure to Use Turn Signal
- Failure to Maintain Lane
