GBI Arrests Two in Screven County Rape Investigation of Two Teen Girls
The Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) has arrested and charged Fredrion Javari Spells, 21, of Portal, GA, with rape, child molestation, and sexual battery. Wesley Travis Brown, 17, of Statesboro, GA, has been charged with rape, statutory rape, and sexual battery.
On September 1, 2024, the Screven County Sheriff’s Office requested the GBI to investigate the rape of two teenage girls. Both Spells and Brown were booked into the Screven County Jail.
The investigation remains active and ongoing.
