Atlanta Police Respond to Multiple Violent Incidents: Stabbings and Shootings on September 5-6, 2024

Atlanta Police are investigating multiple crimes that occurred on September 5-6, 2024.

Stabbing Incident: On September 5, 2024, at approximately 5:11 p.m., Atlanta Police Zone 4 officers responded to a report of a stabbing near 835 Oglethorpe Ave. SW. Upon arrival, officers found a 22-year-old male with multiple stab wounds. The victim was conscious and breathing and was transported to the hospital by ambulance. Preliminary investigations suggest the suspect is known to the victim. The Domestic Violence Unit is investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.

Shooting Incident: On September 5, 2024, at approximately 4:39 p.m., officers responded to 1218 Joseph E. Boone Boulevard NW for a report of a shooting. They found a 46-year-old male with a gunshot wound to his right foot. The victim was alert and breathing and was taken to the hospital for treatment. The suspect(s) had fled before officers arrived. The Aggravated Assault Unit is investigating.

Medical Emergency: On September 5, 2024, at approximately 11:22 a.m., Atlanta Police assisted with a medical call at 4680 Hamden Forest Dr. SW. Officers found a 33-year-old male unresponsive. He was transported to the hospital, where he was pronounced deceased. The cause and manner of death will be determined by autopsy, and the Fulton County Medical Examiner’s Office is leading the investigation.

Shooting Incident: On September 5, 2024, at approximately 12:31 p.m., officers responded to reports of a shooting at 1181 Metropolitan Ave SW. They found a 19-year-old male with a gunshot wound. The victim was in stable condition and was transported to a local hospital. Preliminary information indicates the shooting followed a verbal dispute between known parties. The investigation is ongoing.

Shooting Incident: On September 6, 2024, at approximately 2:58 p.m., officers responded to 1962 Lois Place NW for a report of a shooting. They found a 32-year-old male with a gunshot wound to his back. The victim was transported to the hospital in critical condition. The Aggravated Assault Unit is investigating the circumstances of the shooting.
