Fulton County Sheriff’s Sgt. K. Dingle Awarded 2024 Spirit Award for Courageous Recovery

Sgt. K. Dingle of the Fulton County Sheriff’s Office has been honored with the 2024 Spirit Award by the State Board of Workers’ Compensation. The award was presented during the board’s annual educational conference to recognize an injured worker who has shown exceptional courage and determination in recovering from a severe workers’ compensation injury.

On June 25, 2023, Sgt. Dingle was involved in assisting with an accident when he was struck by a car, which launched him 40 feet into the air. The incident resulted in a spinal cord injury, requiring him to relearn how to walk. Additionally, his left knee was replaced, and his wrist was rebuilt. Despite these challenges, Sgt. Dingle returned to duty on January 8, 2024.
