Teen Arrested in Troup County for Aggravated Assault After Shooting

On August 17th at 12:24 a.m., deputies from the Troup County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to a residence in the 7700 block of West Point Road in West Point, Georgia, following reports of a possible shooting. Upon arrival, deputies found an adult male with a gunshot wound to the abdomen. Several other individuals were present at the scene.

The investigation revealed that a group at the residence had been arguing, which escalated into a physical altercation. During the incident, William Wall, 18, allegedly shot Nicholas Whaley, 41, and then fled the location. Whaley was transported to an area hospital, where he remains under medical care.

William Wall has been arrested and charged with Possession of a Firearm during the Commission of a Crime and Aggravated Assault (gun).
