Columbus Police Investigate Shooting Death of 34-Year-Old on Miller Road

On Monday, September 2, 2024, at 2:22 a.m., Columbus Police responded to a shooting incident on the 5500 block of Miller Road. Upon arrival, officers found a 34-year-old man, later identified as Brody Birks, suffering from a gunshot wound. Birks was transported to Piedmont Columbus Regional by EMS, where he was pronounced deceased by an ER doctor at 3:52 a.m.

The Violent Crimes Unit has taken over the investigation.
