Cobb County Man Pleads Guilty to Multiple Sexual Offenses Against Underage Victim
Wolford Hunter Kilgore

On August 16, 2024, Wolford Hunter Kilgore, 54, pled guilty to charges including aggravated sodomy, aggravated child molestation, two counts of aggravated sexual battery, and child molestation. Cobb County Superior Court Judge Julie Adams Jacobs sentenced Kilgore to 40 years in prison, with the first 15 years to be served without parole and the remaining 25 years on probation. Kilgore is also prohibited from contacting the victim and must register as a sex offender.

The charges stem from a May 2020 report by the underaged victim, who disclosed that Kilgore had engaged in inappropriate contact and molestation at his Kennesaw home over an 18-month period. Cobb County Police SVU detectives, with assistance from Kennesaw police, conducted a forensic interview with the victim, who described a pattern of escalating abuse.

Kilgore admitted to the offenses while at Kennestone Hospital, with his confessions aligning closely with the victim’s account. Deputy Chief Assistant District Attorney Lindsay Raynor prosecuted the case, while Kilgore was represented by Kim Keheley Frye.

District Attorney Flynn D. Broady, Jr. commended the victim’s bravery and the efforts of the law enforcement team in securing the conviction.
