Dawson County Arrests Fugitive Wanted for Louisiana Bank Robbery

On August 21, 2024, the Dawson County Sheriff’s Office Warrant Unit and Crime Suppression Unit, in collaboration with the U.S. Marshals Service, apprehended Brione Russell on outstanding warrants. Russell is wanted in connection with a bank robbery that occurred in Shreveport, Louisiana, in 2023, and he has additional warrants from surrounding counties.

Russell and another individual, Kendrick Larkin, were arrested while attempting to steal from a cell tower site in Dawson County. Following their arrest, Russell faces new charges in Dawson County, including Theft by Taking, Damaging/Interfering with Public Utilities, and Conspiracy to Commit a Crime. Larkin is charged with Obstruction of an Officer, Damaging/Interfering with Public Utilities, Theft by Taking, and Conspiracy to Commit a Crime.

“We appreciate our law enforcement partners as well as our dedicated staff who work daily to protect Dawson County,” said Sheriff Jeff Johnson.
