Carroll County Investigator Taylor Bristow Dies in Line of Duty; Services Set for August 29

Investigator Taylor Jaimeson Bristow, age 30, of Carrollton, Georgia, passed away in the line of duty on Friday, August 23, 2024. Born in Fayetteville, North Carolina, on July 2, 1994, Taylor was the son of Robert Bristow and Shelly Murray Bristow. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Tommy Murray, Sr.

In addition to his parents, Taylor is survived by his wife, Melissa Harkins Bristow; his children, Noah and Bella Brock; his brothers, Hayden Bristow of Waycross and Noah Bristow of Alma; and his sister, Raelyne Bristow of Waycross. He had served as a deputy and investigator for the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office for six years.

Taylor was known for his love of the Georgia Bulldogs and the Atlanta Braves. He had a deep passion for working with children and handling animal abuse cases. His son Noah’s baseball games were a favorite pastime, where Taylor could often be seen coaching from behind the fence. His daughter, Bella, was his “absolute princess,” and their close bond was apparent to everyone. His dogs, Bo Duke and Daisy Duke, were constant companions. Taylor also shared a special connection with his brother Hayden, with whom he spoke daily.

A service in honor of Investigator Bristow will be held on Thursday, August 29, 2024, at 2:00 pm at Mount Holly Church. The service will be officiated by Clay Patterson, Kim Hope, Sheriff Terry Langley, and Chaplain Keith Jiles. Pallbearers will include Hayden Bristow, Noah Bristow, Eli Patterson, Josh Murray, Clay Patterson, and Jeremy Barber. Members of the Carroll County Sheriff’s Department and other law enforcement personnel will serve as honorary pallbearers.

Visitation will take place on Wednesday, August 28, 2024, from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Mount Holly Church. Taylor will be laid to rest at a later date in Kettle Creek Baptist Church Cemetery in Waycross, Georgia.
