62-Year-Old Shot in Back by Moving Vehicle in South Atlanta
On Sunday, August 25, 2024, at approximately 7:00 AM, Atlanta Police officers responded to a report of a shooting at 1518 Jonesboro Road SE, South Atlanta. Upon arrival, officers found a 62-year-old male with an apparent gunshot wound to his back. The man was conscious, alert, and breathing, and was transported to a hospital for treatment.
Preliminary findings suggest that the victim was outside the location when he was struck by gunfire from a moving vehicle. The suspect(s) had fled the scene before officers arrived. Investigators from the Major Crimes Response Team are at the scene, and the investigation is ongoing.
