Woman Shot While Passenger on I-285, Drives to Nearby Location for Help
On August 12, 2024, at approximately 3:23 a.m., Atlanta Police officers responded to a report of a person shot at the intersection of I-285 Northbound and Highway 166. Upon arrival, officers found an adult female with a gunshot wound. Preliminary investigation reveals that the victim was in the passenger seat of a vehicle traveling on the interstate when she was struck by gunfire from an unknown direction. The victim managed to drive to 3000 Continental Colony, where she subsequently contacted police and emergency medical services. She was transported to a hospital for treatment. At this time, officers have not established a crime scene as the investigation is ongoing.
