Fugitive on Felony Murder Charges Arrested with Gun and Meth in Gwinnett County

On Monday, August 5, the Gwinnett County Sheriff’s Office Fugitive Unit apprehended David Shane Lancaster, who was wanted on two felony murder charges. Lancaster was observed leaving an Atlanta residence around 3 p.m., carrying a black backpack. Investigators followed him to a nearby dispensary, where he was arrested.

A search of Lancaster’s backpack revealed a black and silver Smith and Wesson handgun, 0.68 kilograms of a crystal-like substance, and an electronic scale. The substance was confirmed to be Methamphetamine. The evidence has been secured and transferred to the Sheriff’s Office for further processing.
