Woman Found Dead on MARTA Property in Atlanta Identified

On July 19th, 2024, at approximately 5:39 PM, Atlanta Police officers responded to a call at 680 Lee Street SW in the West End concerning an unresponsive individual. Upon arrival, officers found a female who was not alert, conscious, or breathing. She was later pronounced deceased by medical personnel on the scene. The deceased was identified as 35-year-old Chanell Crosby.

Ms. Crosby had been reported missing to the Atlanta Police Department on July 14th, 2024. A Missing Persons BOLO was issued and disseminated to local media on July 18th, 2024. Although the body was discovered on Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority (MARTA) property, the Atlanta Police Department is leading the investigation to determine the circumstances and location of the incident.
