Authorities Conduct Drug Bust in Cordele, GA, Seize Cocaine, Marijuana, Firearms, and Cash

On July 15, 2024, the Crisp County Special Response Team (SRT) and Mid-South Narcotics Task Force (MSNTF) executed a search warrant at two locations: 707 14th Street South, Cordele, Georgia, and 206 11th Street South, Suite A, Cordele, Georgia. Authorities discovered multiple clear plastic bags containing a white powdery substance, multiple pre-packaged bags containing suspected marijuana, digital scales, packaging material, bottles of suspected promethazine, a suspected psilocybin chocolate bar, multiple firearms, and cash. The MSNTF conducted a presumptive test, and the white substance that was found in the search tested positive for the presence of cocaine.

Sherrod Savage, a 36-year-old male from Cordele, GA, was charged with the following offenses:

  • Possession of Marijuana – Felony
  • Possession of Firearm During the Commission of a Crime (1 count)
  • Sale/Distribution/Possession of Dangerous Drugs (2 counts)
  • Possession of a Schedule I or II Controlled Substance with Intent to Distribute (3 counts)
  • Possession, Manufacture/Distribution of a Controlled Substance within 1000 feet of a School
  • Manufacturing/Possession of Controlled Substance within 1000 feet of Housing Project (2 counts)
  • Possession of Tools for Commission of a Crime

Additional charges are pending further investigation.

Mid-South Narcotics Task Force (MSNTF): The Drug Task Force actively pursues and prosecutes groups and/or individuals who use, manufacture, distribute, or sell illegal drugs within the jurisdictional boundaries of the Task Force or for the State of Georgia. The MSNTF also supports programs aimed at reducing the use of illicit drugs and educating the community on the problems associated with illicit drug use. The Crisp County Sheriff’s Office serves as the lead agency of the MSNTF.

Special Response Team (SRT): The Crisp County Sheriff’s Office SRT is comprised of members from the Crisp County Sheriff’s Office, Turner County Sheriff’s Office, and Dooly County Sheriff’s Office.
