Man Shot During Dispute Over Basketball in Edgewood Area

On July 14, 2024, at approximately 11:27 PM, officers responded to reports of a person shot at 1527 Hardee St in the Edgewood area. Upon arrival, they found a male victim with a gunshot wound to the abdomen. Grady EMS was called to the scene and transported the victim to a hospital for treatment.

Preliminary investigations suggest the shooting occurred during a dispute over a basketball that repeatedly landed on the victim’s property, striking his barbeque grill. Investigators are currently working to ascertain the full circumstances surrounding the incident. The investigation is ongoing.
