Glynn County Police Arrest 13-Year-Old with Stolen Vehicle and Firearm

Monday morning, a Glynn county Police officer’s quick actions resulted in the arrest of a 13-year-old boy found in possession of a stolen car and a stolen firearm.

At approximately 5 a.m., Officer William Duggan observed a Toyota Camry traveling on Georgia Highway 27 at Cary Street, missing a front tire and without a license plate. When Officer Duggan signaled for the vehicle to stop, the driver refused, leading to a pursuit. The Camry, traveling in the wrong lane and reaching speeds of 65 mph, nearly collided with other vehicles on two occasions.

To halt the pursuit, Officer Duggan executed a “PIT maneuver,” successfully stopping the Camry at Lois Lane and Old Jesup Road after an initial unsuccessful attempt. The driver, a 13-year-old male, was found to be in possession of a stolen handgun.

The juvenile faces multiple charges, including Fleeing and Eluding (Felony), Theft by Receiving (Felony), Reckless Driving, Driving without a License, No Insurance, and Possession of a Firearm under 18. He has been placed in the custody of Juvenile Justice and transported to the Regional Youth Detention Center in Savannah.
