City of Dalton to Host Ribbon Cutting Ceremony for Mill Line Trail
The City of Dalton will host a ribbon cutting ceremony for the Mill Line Trail on Wednesday, July 17th, at 10:30 a.m. The event will take place next to the pedestrian bridge across Mill Creek, where the Mill Line and Mallard Pass Spur connect. The public is invited to attend.
The Mill Line Trail has been open to the public since late March, following nearly nine months of construction. Officials delayed the ceremony until the final details and finishing touches, including the installation of signage and markers, were completed.
In the three months since its opening, the trail has seen regular use by residents and visitors, with the parking lot frequently occupied. The Mill Line Trail serves as a paved connection between Haig Mill Lake Park and the old Eagle Walk trailhead on Chattanooga Avenue. It largely follows the route of the former Eagle Walk Trail, a footpath developed by local Boy Scouts along Mill Creek. The trail features a 10-foot wide paved surface, accommodating bicyclists, runners, and walkers.
