High-Speed Pursuit Ends in Arrest in Bibb County

On Thursday night, July 4th, the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office S.R.T. Unit released photos and a portion of the video from a high-speed pursuit involving a Honda traveling at 70 mph in a 25-mph zone on Montpelier Avenue.

The S.R.T. Unit deputy initiated a traffic stop, but the driver of the CR-Z refused to stop and led deputies on a chase. During the pursuit, the suspect intentionally struck a BCSO patrol unit and attempted to force the deputy off the roadway. The pursuit ended when a deputy used a PIT maneuver to stop the Honda.

The driver, who was wanted on a warrant, now faces over a dozen new charges.
