SWAT Team Apprehends Aggravated Assault Suspect in Richmond County Standoff

On Wednesday, July 3, 2024, at 10:09 a.m., the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office and the Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force responded to the 2200 Block of Basswood Drive regarding a wanted individual.

Upon arrival, deputies located 27-year-old Tyrell Dayquan Lewis, who was wanted for Aggravated Assault. Lewis barricaded himself inside the home, prompting the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office SWAT Unit to respond. The SWAT Unit successfully took Lewis into custody without further incident.
