Cordele Police Recover Stolen Silverado, Arrest Juvenile Suspects
On Wednesday, June 26, around 9:30 pm, Cordele officers successfully located a stolen 2007 Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck in the 500 block of W 14th Ave. The truck, reported stolen from Quality Auto & RV’s lot on Sunday, June 23, had been unlawfully entered and driven off the premises. Despite recovering the vehicle, the investigation remains active.
Earlier on Sunday, June 23, at approximately 11:30 pm, three unidentified male suspects entered Quality Auto & RV’s lot at 1002 E 11th Ave. They rifled through multiple vehicles before absconding with a dark blue extended-cab 2007 Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck, exiting the lot westbound on 11th Ave. This particular vehicle is still missing at this time.
In a separate incident this morning, just before 4 am, a Crisp County Deputy attempted to stop a gray Dodge pickup truck in the vicinity of Sheppard Ct and Clegg Rd. Following a brief pursuit, the vehicle stopped, and local officers responded to assist. Further investigation revealed the truck was potentially stolen. Subsequent contact with the owner confirmed the truck should have been at Quality Auto & RV on 11th Ave. The vehicle has since been returned to its rightful owner.
Authorities have charged two juveniles, aged fifteen and sixteen, with offenses including theft by taking, criminal trespass, criminal damage to property, and entering auto. Additional charges may follow as the investigation progresses. A nineteen-year-old male from Cordele has also been charged with complicity in motor vehicle theft.
