Child with Special Needs Found Unresponsive in Sandy Springs Apartment Pool

On Friday, June 21, 2024, at around 8:42 am, Sandy Springs police responded to a call at an apartment complex regarding a missing five-year-old girl with special needs. Following a brief search, the child was found in the complex’s swimming pool.

A Sandy Springs police officer immediately entered the pool and retrieved the child. First responders administered life-saving measures upon removing her from the pool. She was rushed to Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, where she was later pronounced deceased. CID detectives are currently investigating the incident.
