Man Shot at Candlelight Vigil in Atlanta, Investigation Ongoing

On June 18, 2024, around 2:02 a.m., Atlanta Police officers responded to Grady Hospital following reports of a male with gunshot wounds to his ankle and foot. Upon arrival, officers found the man receiving treatment from hospital staff.

Preliminary investigation revealed that the victim was attending a candlelight vigil when an unknown vehicle approached and began firing at the group. The victim stated he hid behind a vehicle for cover, but later realized he had been shot.

Investigators recovered multiple shell casings from the crime scene. The investigation is currently active and ongoing.
