Stolen Mercedes-Benz Recovered with Guns in Bibb County Traffic Stop

Bibb County Sheriff’s Office Special Response Team (S.R.T.) and K-9 Interdiction Unit deputies made a significant discovery during a recent patrol. While on duty, they spotted a Mercedes-Benz, which had been reported stolen from Houston County, being transported on a trailer. Upon initiating a traffic stop, deputies found that the trailer had its vehicle identification number (VIN) plate removed and lacked a license plate.

Further investigation led to the recovery of two handguns from inside the truck. The driver was taken into custody, facing multiple charges including Theft by Receiving and Possession of a Firearm or Knife During the Commission of or Attempt to Commit Certain Crimes.
