In a coordinated effort spanning multiple agencies, a significant breakthrough has been achieved in the fight against organized crime. A joint investigation by various law enforcement agencies has led to the apprehension of seven individuals associated with a criminal street gang (CSG). The arrests come on the heels of a probe initiated by the GBI Gang Task Force in October 2023, targeting a cell of Gangster Disciples street gang members operating in Habersham, Georgia.
The suspects, hailing from various locations including Georgia and North Carolina, face a slew of charges, including Violations of the Georgia Street Gang Terrorism and Prevention Act, Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Act, Simple Assault, Terroristic Threats, and Possession of Controlled Substances with Intent to Distribute.
The individuals arrested include:

On April 18, 2024, law enforcement agencies executed search and arrest warrants in both Georgia and North Carolina in the early morning hours, culminating in the apprehension of the suspects.
The investigation was a collaborative effort involving the GBI’s Gang Task Force, the GBI Appalachian Regional Drug Enforcement Office, the Habersham County Sheriff’s Office, the Stephens County Sheriff’s Department, the Toccoa Police Department, and the FBI Safe Streets Task Force.
While the arrests mark a significant milestone, the investigation remains active and ongoing, with additional charges anticipated. The prosecution will be handled by the Mountain Judicial Circuit District Attorney’s Office.
The GBI Gang Task Force, comprising various agencies including the GBI, the Atlanta Police Department, the Spalding County Sheriff’s Office, the Georgia Department of Corrections, and the Georgia Department of Community Supervision, continues to play a crucial role in combating organized crime and ensuring the safety of communities.
