Georgia Man Arrested and Charged with Murder and Assault in Hartwell Case
1 min readMatthew Carey, aged 41, from Bowman, GA, has been arrested and charged by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) with Malice Murder, Felony Murder, and Aggravated Assault – Family Violence.
The GBI was called upon by the Hartwell Police Department on Sunday, April 28, 2024, to assist in the investigation of the death of Candy Downer, aged 36, at the Daynight Inn in Hartwell, GA.
Matthew Carey was apprehended on Monday, April 29, 2024, and is presently detained in the Hart County Jail.
