Two Separate Shootings in Close Proximity in Columbus, Teen Arrested

Two separate shootings occurred in close proximity to each other, resulting in the deaths of Chris Collins and Jania Mobley in Columbus, GA. Initial investigations indicate that the vehicle Mobley was found in was shot at with a different weapon from the one used in Collins’ murder.

Amarion Boone, aged 19, has been identified as a suspect in Mobley’s death. A murder warrant was issued for his arrest.

On April 23, 2024, the Muscogee County Sheriff’s Office Special Operations Unit, Columbus Police Department, the United States Marshal’s Service, and Federal Bureau of Investigation collaborated to successfully locate and apprehend Boone. He is scheduled to appear in Recorder’s Court on April 26, 2024, at 9:00 a.m.

Boone faces multiple charges including murder, six counts of aggravated assault, and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime.
