Fatal Shooting in Millen: One Dead, Another Injured in Exchange of Gunfire
The Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) is probing the death of Robert Lamar Herrington, aged 39, of Millen, Georgia, following a request from the Millen Police Department.
Reports indicate that officers from the Millen Police Department responded to a 911 call reporting a shooting incident on Corbett Street in Millen. Upon arrival, officers found Herrington with gunshot wounds. He was transported to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced deceased.
Another individual involved in the incident sustained gunshot wounds and was initially treated at a local hospital before being airlifted to Augusta, Georgia. Presently, he is reported to be in stable condition.
Initial findings suggest that Herrington and the other individual were engaged in a prior altercation which escalated, culminating in the exchange of gunfire between them.
Herrington’s body has been transferred to the GBI Crime Lab for autopsy examination.
The investigation is active and ongoing.
