Domestic Incident Leads to Shooting of Two Minors in Southwest Atlanta

On Sunday, April 21, 2024, at approximately 10:30 p.m., Atlanta Police Zone 4 officers responded to reports of a person shot at 2333 Omaha Rd in Southwest Atlanta.

Upon arriving on the scene, officers located an 11-year-old with a gunshot wound, as well as a 14-year-old who also sustained a gunshot wound. Both victims were transported to the hospital by EMS alert, conscious, and breathing.

Investigators responded to the scene to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident. Preliminary information suggests the incident was domestic in nature.

James Kimbrough was arrested for Reckless Conduct, Cruelty to children (2 counts), and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
