Woman Fatally Shot in Columbus Mobile Home Park

In the early hours of Monday, April 15, 2024, Columbus Police Officers responded to an incident in the 800 block of Morris Road.

Upon arrival at 12:49 a.m., they discovered the body of a female in the mobile home park, later identified as Jakesa Josey. Despite efforts from EMS, Ms. Josey could not be revived and was pronounced deceased at the scene due to apparent gunshot wounds. Deputy Coroner Elizabeth Allison confirmed the victim’s death at 1:28 a.m.
