Norcross Burglary Case: Suspect Apprehended with Stolen Copper Pipes
Authorities in Norcross made significant progress in a recent burglary case, following a report on March 14, 2024, at Fern Ridge Court. Multiple townhomes under construction were targeted, with copper HVAC pipes stolen from the premises.
Thanks to the diligent efforts of officers at the West Precinct, video footage of a suspicious vehicle in the neighborhood prior to the burglaries was obtained. Utilizing Flock cameras, officers were able to track the vehicle’s movements and issued alerts to their colleagues.
Later that same day, officers successfully located and conducted a traffic stop on the identified vehicle. Behind the wheel was Carlos Banos Herrera, a 24-year-old resident of Norcross, who was found in possession of a significant amount of stolen copper pipe.
Banos Herrera now faces charges of 11 counts of Burglary, along with additional charges of Unsafe Lane Change and Driving Without a License. Following his arrest, he was booked into the Gwinnett County Jail without bond.
The recovered copper pipe was returned to the construction site by the officers involved in the case.
