Man Attending Gathering Fatally Shot While Seated in Front Porch

The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is currently investigating a tragic incident that unfolded on Sunday night in the 1900 block of Cedar Avenue.
Deputies were dispatched to a duplex on Cedar Ave after reports of a person being shot. Upon arrival, they discovered 36-year-old Gregory William Thomas with gunshot wounds. Thomas, who was attending a gathering at the location, was found seated on the front porch when gunshots rang out. He was transported to the hospital, where medical staff later pronounced him deceased.
At present, investigators from the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office are actively working to piece together the events leading up to the shooting.
