Albany Police Investigating Death of Suspect in Custody

Albany Police officers responded to reports of criminal trespass incidents in the 2200 block of Nottingham Way at approximately 5:46 pm on April 13, 2024. During their investigation, they apprehended a suspect.

While in custody, the suspect ceased breathing. Officers administered life-saving measures and summoned EMS personnel. The suspect was rushed to Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital, where he was pronounced deceased.
