Save the Date: Macon-Bibb County’s Food Truck Festival in the Park Returns April 13
Macon-Bibb County Recreation Department is gearing up for a flavorful affair as they announce the return of Picnic in the Park. Scheduled for Saturday, April 13, 2024, at Carolyn Crayton Park (150 Willie Smokie Glover Drive), this culinary extravaganza promises a delightful experience for all.
Running from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., rain or shine, this event marks the inaugural festival of 2024 and the seventh overall since its inception. The community is invited to join in the festivities, with admission being free while food purchases are to be made directly from the vendors.
Senior Administrative Assistant Kalyn Collins emphasized the department’s commitment to “Build Healthy Communities Through People, Parks, and Programs.” Collins expressed enthusiasm for the event, citing its role in supporting local vendors, fostering community engagement, and facilitating cultural exchange.
The lineup boasts 15 food trucks and vendors offering a diverse array of cuisines. Additionally, Jail Creek Farms Winery will roll in with their wine truck, while Macon Water Ice will provide frozen treats. Attendees can groove to live music and indulge in the kids’ zone featuring bounce houses and an inflatable obstacle course.
Food enthusiasts can look forward to tantalizing offerings from A&K Concessions, ABC Catering, LLC., BurgerIM, Egg Roll Boyz, Guitarras Mexican Grill, Patty Shack, Soul 2 Soul, Tina Moe’s Kitchen, Streetz Eatz, Jail Creek Farms Winery, Macon Water Ice, and Peewee Bakery Sweets.
Director Robert Walker expressed excitement for the event, underscoring its role in supporting local businesses and providing families with a fun-filled outing. Attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and blankets to make the most of the day.
