Fatal Shooting in Atlanta Leaves One Dead, Teen Injured

On March 31, 2024, at around 9:02 p.m., Atlanta Police Zone 1 officers rushed to 820 James Jackson Pkwy NW in the Brookview Heights area following reports of a shooting. Upon arrival, they discovered a 33-year-old man with a gunshot wound. He was taken to the hospital in critical condition, but succumbed to his injuries.

During the course of their response, officers received information about another victim seeking help at Atlanta Fire Station No. 22 on 817 Hollywood Rd. There, they found a 16-year-old girl with multiple gunshot wounds. Despite her injuries, she was alert, conscious, and breathing. She was transported to the hospital for treatment.

Investigators from the Homicide Unit have been deployed to the scene to piece together the events leading up to the incident.
