Region 6 STAR Student Teacher Banquet Celebrates Excellence in Education

The 2024 Region 6 STAR Student Teacher Banquet took place on Tuesday, March 19, 2024, at Middle Georgia State University. The event honored outstanding students and teachers from nineteen counties. Two system winners emerged, sharing the title of Region 6 STAR Student Teacher.
The winners, pictured from left to right, were William Steinfeld, the STAR Student from Georgia Military College High School, and his STAR Teacher Alisha Rochon, along with Shiva Soundappan, the STAR Student from Houston County High School, and his STAR Teacher Daryl Leslie.
These regional winners will vie for the state title on April 29 in Duluth, Georgia. The event was made possible by sponsor Sullivan Forestry Consultants and was hosted by Middle Georgia State University in collaboration with the Greater Macon Chamber of Commerce and the Professional Association of Georgia Educators (PAGE).
