Woman Fatally Shot, Another Injured in Macon Incident

The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is currently investigating a fatal shooting incident that occurred in the 800 block of Maynard Street in Macon.

According to reports, the incident was called in to the Macon-Bibb E-911 Center on Sunday at 12:11 a.m. Deputies responded to Maynard Street where they found two females with gunshot wounds. Initial information suggests that an argument escalated into gunfire. Both victims were then transported to the hospital by private vehicle for treatment.

28-year-old Shantoria Hines succumbed to her injuries. She was pronounced deceased by medical staff, and her family has been notified by Deputy Coroner Lonnie Marley. The second victim, 26-year-old Kreo Montgomery, sustained a gunshot wound but is currently listed in stable condition.

Investigators are diligently working to piece together the events leading up to the shooting. Further details will be provided as the investigation progresses.
