GBI and Local Authorities Bust Drug Trafficking Ring, Arrest Two in Laurens County
The Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI), in collaboration with the Southeastern Regional Drug Enforcement Office (SRDEO), Laurens County Sheriff’s Office, and Dublin Police Department, has apprehended Ramon Wright, 34, of Dublin, Laurens County, Georgia, and Lakeisha Butler, 32, of Montrose, Laurens County, Georgia, after a joint drug investigation.
The arrests stem from an inquiry initiated on February 8, 2024, by GBI SRDEO and the Laurens County Sheriff’s Office into the alleged drug trafficking activities of Ramon Wright. Following a month-long investigation, authorities obtained warrants for Wright’s arrest and a search warrant for a residence situated on the 1800 block of Old Macon Road in Montrose, Laurens County, Georgia.
On Monday, March 11, 2024, law enforcement executed the warrants, resulting in the seizure of 1.2 pounds of suspected cocaine and 2.5 pounds of suspected methamphetamine from the targeted property. Lakeisha Butler was also taken into custody during the operation.
Both suspects were booked into the Laurens County Jail following their arrest.
The concerted effort by multiple agencies aims to combat street-level drug distribution in Laurens County, Georgia, fostering a safer environment for its residents.
