Police Apprehend Suspects in Duluth Woods Fire Incident
On Tuesday afternoon (March 12th), Duluth Police officers responded to reports of a significant plume of smoke in the area between N. Berkeley Lake Road and Pleasant Hill Road. Thanks to several 911 calls, authorities were able to quickly locate the source – a fire in the woods.
Efforts to contain the blaze were expedited with the assistance of Gwinnett County Fire, whose rapid response helped prevent the fire from spreading further. With a perimeter established and aided by witness accounts, Officers managed to locate and apprehend two individuals believed to be responsible for igniting the fire.
Moreover, it was discovered that one of the suspects had an active warrant from Walton County, adding further gravity to the situation. The prompt and coordinated efforts of both fire and police departments were crucial in ensuring the safety of the surrounding area and bringing the suspects into custody.
