US Marshals Arrest Suspect in Dalton Georgia Road Rage Shooting
Damien E’Shaud Johnson, aged 29, was apprehended on Thursday morning in Ft. Pierce, Florida, by the United States Marshals Service Fugitive Task Force. His arrest followed warrants linked to a road rage shooting incident that occurred in January in Dalton, Georgia. The joint effort between the Dalton Police Department and the US Marshals led to Johnson’s capture.
The warrants against Johnson were for aggravated assault and reckless driving stemming from a road rage incident on January 28th along West Walnut Avenue. Fortunately, no injuries were reported during the altercation.
Initial investigations revealed that Johnson, driving a white Audi, and the victim, operating a gray Honda Accord, engaged in aggressive driving behavior towards each other while traveling westbound on Walnut Avenue.
Upon reaching the intersection of Walnut Avenue and Market Street, Johnson fired multiple shots at the victim’s vehicle before fleeing the scene. Despite efforts by law enforcement to trace Johnson’s whereabouts to an apartment building off of Tibbs Road, he managed to evade capture.
However, on February 28, 2024, Johnson’s run came to an end when he was arrested in Ft. Pierce, Florida, by the US Marshals.
