Young Man Fatally Shot in Columbus, Police Seek Information

On Sunday, February 25, 2024, at 1:41 a.m., Columbus Police Officers responded to the 700 block of Parkview Drive (Belvedere Park) concerning a person who had been shot. Responding officers discovered a Black male, later identified as 18-year-old Earkus Porter, Jr., suffering from gunshot wounds. EMS arrived and could not resuscitate the victim. Coroner Buddy Bryan pronounced him deceased at 2:21 p.m.

The Violent Crimes Unit was called to the scene to take the lead on the investigation.
