Warrant Roundup in Columbus Results in Five Arrests, Clearing Ten Active Warrants
Columbus Police Department’s Fugitive Unit conducted a successful warrant roundup on Wednesday, February 21, 2024, targeting individuals with outstanding warrants in the Columbus area. Various specialized units collaborated efficiently to locate and apprehend the wanted individuals.
Five arrests were made during the operation, clearing a total of ten active warrants. The individuals taken into custody are as follows:
- Christopher McClinton, 44, facing charges of Terroristic Threats or Acts.
- Tresean Persaud, 23, also charged with Terroristic Threats or Acts.
- Derrick Lawson, 26, facing charges of Aggravated Assault, Battery (FV), Financial Transaction Card Theft (F), and Entering Auto (F).
- Gregory Johnson, 19, charged with Home Invasion (F) and Possession of a Firearm or Knife During the Commission of a Commit Crime (F).
- Scott Griffin, 58, facing charges of Convicted Felon in Possession of Firearms (F) and Theft by Deception.
The Columbus Police Department expressed gratitude to CPD’s Patrol, Special Operations, Property Crimes, and Violent Crimes Units, along with 911 Dispatchers for their support in executing the operation. They also acknowledged the Department of Community Supervision for providing manpower and assistance.
