On Monday, July 29, 2024, at approximately 9:54 PM, Atlanta Police officers responded to 925 Peachtree Street regarding a report of a person shot. Upon arrival, officers found a female victim with a gunshot wound to the leg. She was conscious, alert, and breathing and was transported to the hospital for treatment. Preliminary investigation revealed that both the victim and suspect, identified as Deante Clark, were employed at the location. During their shift, they came into physical contact, and as Clark attempted to re-adjust his firearm, it discharged accidentally, hitting the victim. Clark was arrested at the scene and charged with Reckless Conduct. He was transported to the Fulton County Jail.
On Tuesday, July 30, 2024, at around 2:00 AM, officers responded to a shooting incident at 560 Meldrum Street NW. They found a male victim with multiple gunshot wounds to his legs. The victim was alert, conscious, and breathing and was taken to the hospital for treatment. The victim reported feeling pain in his legs without seeing the shooter. Witnesses indicated that the victim was seen talking to several males in a vacant lot before the shooting and that a white SUV was seen speeding away from the scene. The investigation is ongoing.
On Tuesday, July 30, 2024, at approximately 4:02 AM, officers responded to a shooting at 2805 Macon Drive SE. They located a male victim with multiple gunshot wounds. The victim was alert, conscious, and breathing and was transported to the hospital. The preliminary investigation suggests that the victim was shot by a male suspect known to him. The victim had recently evicted the suspect from his residence, and the suspect had been threatening him since the eviction. Investigators are working to determine the circumstances of the incident. The investigation continues.
