Man Stabbed to Death on Montgomery Ferry Rd NE, Suspect in Custody

On July 5, 2024, around 8 PM, Atlanta officers responded to a call about a person being stabbed at 243 Montgomery Ferry Rd NE in the Piedmont Heights area. Upon arrival, they found an unidentified male with multiple stab wounds. Grady EMS pronounced the male deceased at the scene.

Homicide detectives and various units canvassed the area for a suspect. Zone 6 FIT Units detained 27-year-old William Coleman, who matched the suspect’s description. Coleman was already wanted by the Department of Corrections for escaping custody.

Coleman was taken to Atlanta Police HQ for questioning and was later charged with Murder, Aggravated Assault, and Possession of a Knife during the Commission of a Felony.
