Fayetteville Police Receive $20,000 Grant to Enhance Traffic Safety

The City of Fayetteville Police Department has secured a $20,000 grant from the Governor’s Office of Highway Safety (GOHS) to bolster its efforts in improving traffic safety. The grant, which will be in effect until September 2024, aims to fund essential technological resources such as laptop computers, printers, and computer hardware used by officers during collision investigations.

Allen Poole, Director of the Governor’s Office of Highway Safety, emphasized the grant’s role in preventing traffic fatalities. “The loss of one life on our roads is one too many,” Poole stated. “The target of zero traffic deaths in our nation is achievable, and we will continue to support initiatives that move us closer to that goal.”

Fayetteville Police Chief Scott Gray expressed gratitude for the grant, highlighting its impact on enhancing roadway safety. “The Fayetteville Police Department is honored to receive the Georgia Association of Chiefs of Police Technology Grant,” Chief Gray commented. “This funding will provide our officers with the latest technology necessary to conduct thorough collision investigations, ultimately ensuring safer roads for our community.”
