Fight Between Two Groups Escalates into Gunfire, Two Injured
On April 27th, 2024, around 11:10 PM, Atlanta Police officers were dispatched to 2167 Martin Luther King Junior Drive NW after reports of multiple individuals being shot. Upon arrival, they discovered a 26-year-old man with gunshot wounds to his head, chest, and leg, and a 33-year-old man with a gunshot wound to his groin. Both victims were found unconscious but breathing and were taken to the hospital for medical attention.
Initial findings suggest that the two men were involved in a physical altercation with several others at the location, which quickly escalated into gunfire. Investigators from the Aggravated Assault Unit have been deployed to the scene to unravel the events leading up to the shooting.
The investigation is ongoing.
